On Friday, when he appeared on FNC's “Ingraham's Angle,” Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) questioned Democrats' opposition to the Save Act, which requires evidence of citizenship to vote in US elections.
Lawler argued that their opponents had claimed that Democrats thought certain people were “too stupid” and could not secure their identity and prove their citizenship.
Host Laura Ingraham said, “Rep. Gauche. I think you guys are terrible.”
“Well, given that four Democrats, including Henry Culler, who is himself a Latino, took part in the bill's vote, they might want to have that discussion at the meeting,” Lawler replied. “But the truth is, Democrats are suggesting that colours, women, women across the country are too stupid to understand how to obtain IDs and prove citizenship, and that they are trying to kill it in the Senate.
“It's fine,” Ingraham said. “Rep., it's clear that they want them to vote for illegal immigrants, and they probably think that's the only way they can win.”
Roller added: “No doubt.”
