Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) lost a $4 million public matching fund in his comeback bid, the mayor of New York City. New York Post It has been reported.
“Last Friday, the campaign was notified by the Campaign Finance Committee. As a technical software error has led to the contributions collected in NGP, one of the vendor platforms, lacking one of the fields required for the Campaign Finance Committee, the campaign was required to resolve this technical technical problem while meeting the threshold required to receive the matching fund. I said Outlet.
“Since then, we have fully addressed software issues, complied with all requirements and will submit appropriate documents to the board within a one-week grace period. The board will be able to correct any technical issues to receive eligible matching funds on May 12th.”
According to PostsCuomo’s campaign missed $4,174,643.75 with a $332,350 matching fund. The city will match funds for 8-1 contributions from its citizens, up to $2,150, and open a contest for less-rich candidates.
The Campaign Finance Committee took the decision Tuesday morning after the Cuomo campaign asked donors to send an emergency weekend email to donors, fill out the form and provide a signature digitally to enable matching funds, according to the report.
The email had the following subject:Emergency – action is needed,” he emphasized, “This is very important.”
“You will need to fill out the forms included in this additional email. You will need to fill out this additional email whenever possible. We apologize for the inconvenience, but it is important to get these forms back as soon as possible,” the email read.
Cuomo’s campaign has raised about $2.5 million in donations so far, but has not counted any super PACs that have won millions more. Polling indicates Cuomo is the frontrunner for the race that expels current Mayor Eric Adams (D).
