Florida State University (FSU) police are working to “control” the “active scene” on the Tallahassee campus. The university wrote to X that active shooters were reported and instructed them to evacuate on campus.
Sources from Florida’s senior law enforcement agency told Fox News that at least one person is in custody but could not confirm whether the individual was a shooter. Additionally, the FBI’s Jacksonville Field Office and Tallahassee Residence offices are on-site.
Attorney General Pam Bondy has issued a statement on the situation.
” [FBI] It is located on the Florida scene and we are in contact with agents on the ground. Our priority is the safety of all involved. I’ll continue updating as I learn more. I pray for everyone,” Bondi wrote.
FBI Director Dan Bongino also confirmed that the station was on the scene at FSU.
“The FBI is on the FSU site. I’m back from the LA office to DC, but I’m up to date with the airplane situation. I’ll update as I learn more,” Bongino wrote in X’s post.

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) sent a statement on the situation to FOX News, saying it had received a patient “incidentally related” at FSU. However, TMH did not provide information on how many patients or which treatments were administered, citing patient privacy concerns.
“At this point, details are still being rolled out and we don’t have any specific information yet. However, our team wants to ensure our community is fully mobilized and ready to provide the highest level of care and support to all affected people. We work closely with emergency responders and public safety officials,” TMH wrote.

Florida Gov. Ron Desantis, R-Fla. wrote on social media platform X that “our prayers are actively handled by the FSU family and state law enforcement.”
