JD Vance Attends Good Friday Service at Vatican with His Family

US Vice President J.D. V. V. V. V. V. V. and his family were in the Vatican for Good Friday service to celebrate Easter. The Restoring Pope was not present.

Reuters Note Visiting Italy with his family over Easter weekend, Vance joined the celebration of the Lord’s passion at St. Peter’s Cathedral on the day Christians marked the crucifixion of Jesus.

The second family joined the service with more than 12 Secret Service members just a short time before the start of the liturgy. National Catholic Reporter departure.

The vice president, who converted to Roman Catholicism six years ago, landed in Rome earlier that day on an official visit to the Italian capital.

His first Meeting He was with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, a close ally of Italian President Donald Trump.

Before Vance arrived at the Vatican, he posted on social media that Christians around the world wanted Good Friday.

“I am grateful for this job every day, but especially where my official duties today brought me to Rome on Good Friday.” He wrote. “I have a great meeting with Prime Minister Meloni and her team and head straight to church with my family in this beautiful city.

“He died so that we could live,” Vance wrote.

The Vatican liturgical celebration continues at Easter gatherings on Saturday, followed by an outdoor Easter Sunday Mass at St. Peter’s Square.

On Saturday, Vance will talk to Cardinal Pietro Parolin. Pietro Parolin is the second highest official in the Holy Holy See after Pope Francis, as Secretary of State for the Vatican.
