The university student was arrested by federal authorities in Boston after he allegedly launched a Molotov cocktail at a Tesla dealer in Missouri at his home during spring break.
Owen McIntier, 19, of Kansas City, was arrested and appeared in the first courthouse in Massachusetts on Friday.
McIntyre, a Boston university student, has been charged with unlawful possession of unregistered destructive equipment and malicious damages in the fire of property used in interstate commercials, according to court documents filed in the Western District of Missouri.

FBI investigates after “big noise” after Washington Tesla charging station
The Kansas City Missouri State Police Station (KCMOPD), which was near the Kansas City Tesla Center, saw smoke rising from a cyber truck parked in a parking lot on March 17th.
According to the affidavit, officers also found a still-ordered Molotov cocktail near a burning cyber truck just before midnight.

According to court documents, Kansas City Fire Department crews responded to extinguish the fire that had spread from the cybertruck to the second vehicle in the lot. The Cybertrucks sold at $105,485 and $107,485.
The two Tesla charging stations were also damaged by the fire, each worth roughly $550.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, Explosives (ATF) agents and forensic experts (ATFs) retrieved and analyzed key evidence, including Molotov cocktails, allegedly used in arson.
Authorities later found video footage of someone they believed to be MacIntoia, put on a big hat, illuminated the device, threw it on a cyber truck before leaving.
The hat was later discovered by authorities near the dealership, confirming that DNA evidence matches that of the man.

“Let’s be very clear to anyone who still wants to fire Tesla’s property. You won’t avoid us,” Attorney General Pamela Bondy said in a statement. “You’ll be arrested. You’ll be charged. You’ll be spent decades behind the bar. It’s worthless.”
FBI Director Kash Patel said the arrest was the second week of a week of crime targeting Tesla.

“These actions are dangerous and illegal and we intend to arrest those responsible,” Patel said. “We work with our Department of Justice partners to take responsibility for anyone who commits such a crime.”
The FBI Kansas City and Boston field offices, ATF and Kansas City and the Missouri State Police Department are under investigation.
