Trump admin warns NY ‘risks serious consequences’ over refusal to end congestion pricing

On Monday, the Trump administration gave Gov. Kathy Hochul a new extension deadline to stop collecting congestion price casualties, warning of “serious consequences” if she continues her rebellion.

Sent letter According to the Department of Transportation, Sean Duffy is threatening to withdraw federal funds and approval for the Manhattan project if traffic prices continue past the May 21 deadline.

Duffy warned that other Fed-funded Empire State Road projects could see their money draining.

“The above corrective actions could be extended to other geographical areas within New York if the violation continues,” the letter said.

Duffy’s letter comes a day after Hochul and Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials stopped collecting $9 tolls past the April 20 deadline.

The White House previously called for the MTA to end its first crowd pricing program on March 21, urging transport agencies to file a lawsuit to suspend the Fed.

Monday’s missile also effectively launched the MTA from a massive planned revamp at Penn Station, following Presidents Trump and Duffy.

Hochul was involved in a face-to-face meeting with Trump at Penn Station, but she was engaged in an escalating feud with Duffy over busy pricing.

State officials must show that a $9 toll for driving below 60th Avenue violated or did not violate the federal “freedom of Passage” law, the latest letter from Duffy’s request.

Duffy allegedly forced the program driver to pay to use the federal highways in Manhattan.

“People who need to drive to this area will either be forced to pay victims of cost control or use substandard transport systems run by metropolitan transport,” the letter said.
