A Las Vegas veterinarian who went missing in early April said a video of him surfaced online and brutally kicking a horse was found dead Friday.
Dr. Sean Freener, 56, was recovered from Lake Mead, a reservoir spanning Arizona from Nevada. Authorities flocculated the reservoir last week after finding trucks and multiple personal belongings near the edge of the water.
His identity was confirmed Monday, the Las Vegas Journal of Review reported.
Fraener disappeared on April 6th after physically abusing the horse he was supposed to be treating. He later apologised on Facebook after the video went viral and defended his actions before disappearing.
According to News8Now, Frenner wrote: “That wasn’t my intention. It was done to put the horse in a better position, allowing him to breathe and get up and move and try to get anesthetize again.
“But yes, I kicked him with the chin and I apologize very much and hope this never happens.”
Freener was set to face felony charges of animal cruelty at the time of his loss.
Shawna Gonzalez, an animal Frehner has treated since August, filmed footage of the vet having a horse bent into a big red.
“It’s horrifying, I never wanted this from him, I didn’t want this from anyone,” Gonzalez said. 8 I told Newsnow. “This isn’t what I ultimately wanted.”
Big Red suffered the massive injuries thousands of dollars needed to treat, including abrasions to his skull.
