Israeli US Ambassador Mike Huckabee called on the World Health Organization to pressure Israel on Gaza aid, instead calling for Hamas to have an international focus and “sign a contract to those who desperately need it, so that humanitarian aid can flow to Gaza.”
In X’s Monday post, Huckabee shared a video message in response to a request from Dr. Hanan Balkhhy, regional director of the Eastern Mediterranean.
“How about putting pressure on where it really belongs? – About Hamas, Huckabee wrote in a post.
“Last weekend, Dr. Hanan Balky called on me to put more pressure on Israel to bring humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza,” he told the video. “I appreciate the message…and what I would like to propose today is that we are working with Hamas to help put pressure on where we actually belong.”
Huckabee has signed an agreement to allow safe and unlimited delivery of aid in treason groups that have been administering Gaza since 2007, and has also called for the release of Israeli hostages that were accused of during Hamas’ October 7 attack.
“When that happens… we hope that humanitarian aid flows and flows freely.
The ambassador’s statement came in the midst of putting international pressure on Israel to allow greater aid access to Gaza. Israeli officials argue that Hamas will routinely decoup or seize humanitarian cargo for its own use, fearing concerns that US lawmakers and aid groups have on the ground.
recently Wall Street Journal investigation Confirmed Hamas stole humanitarian aid intended for civilians in Gaza and resold it to fund war efforts. It undermined international law claims and exposed the exploitation of terrorist groups’ relief efforts.
“It was outrageous that the Biden administration forced the delivery of aid to Hamas in the first place,” replied Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton.
Last month, recently released Israeli hostage and survivor of Hamas prisoners of war, Eli Sharabi, brought strong testimony before the UN Security Council exposed Hamas’ foreign aid and civilian abuse.
Hackabee’s statement reinforces the view that Gaza’s humanitarian suffering is inseparable from Hamas’ continued control, and that it puts pressure on Israel without demanding accountability from Hamas further promotes terrorist groups.
