BBC Report Pope funerals have traditionally been an elaborate matter, but Pope Francis acted last year to simplify his arrangements. The outlet continued:
He will become the first Pope of over a century not buried in the basement of the Holy Cathedral of the Vatican. Instead, you choose to be placed in the Cathedral of St. Mary’s Major in Rome, near Madonna’s favorite icon.
He also requested that the burial be buried in a simple wooden cas, unlike his predecessor, buried in three traditional nest co-made made of cypress, lead and oak.
Pope Francis’ funeral will be held outdoors in front of St. Peter’s Cathedral.
Giovanni Batista Re, dean of Cardinals University, leads the service according to the BBC report.
