Pope Francis’ pass rattled the world, but he was the one he was believed to be when he was alive that Liz Wheeler from “The Liz Wheeler Show.”
“In my opinion, the hallmark of his Pope was a confusion for faithful people because of his theology informed by his experience in a very close relationship with Argentine liberation theology, or his theology,” she says.
“It is also noteworthy that Pope Francis was very different from his predecessors, Pope Benedict and Pope John Paul II, as Pope Francis seemed to not understand the power of the media,” she continues.

“It seems he never pushed back when the media misinterpreted what he said, and that happened frequently,” she added, explaining that he spoke mostly in Italian or Spanish, allowing him to publicly interpret what he said by the American media.
“How it was translated either by international or American media was often a glitch. It was often reported incorrectly, what Pope Francis actually said, and of course the media we know, is biased not only politically but theologically, spiritually and religiously,” explains Wheeler.
“So the media often portrayed Pope Francis as saying things he didn’t say.
The media has made the Pope tilt to the left, but Wheeler points out that in fact he is “opposed to gender ideology.”
“And he was very clear about the marriage being between one man and one woman,” she says.
However, the Pope promoted priests like Father James Martin. James Martin advocates for a change in the Catholic Church doctrine.
“It’s confusing for me. It’s confusing loyal people,” Wheeler says.
Pope Francis also described abortion as “hiring a hitman to solve the problem.”
“You can’t support life more strongly than that, but at the same time he said the church cannot “argued only about issues related to abortion, gay marriage, or the use of birth control methods,” Wheeler says. “He suggested instead focusing on issues of social justice. I think it’s confusing.”
“How can you acknowledge that abortion is a murder? How can you acknowledge that your fetus is a human with the same right of life as you? She continues.
“One of the Pope’s roles should be to speak with moral clarity. When the Pope speaks, especially when he is talking about one of the hot button issues that are full of confusion to begin with, misunderstanding is not impossible,” she adds.
