Britt Hume, a senior political analyst at Fox News, told Fox News on Wednesday that President Donald Trump faces widespread disapproval across almost every major issue.
Americans are unhappy with Trump’s financial performance, according to polls. When appearing in “Special Report with Bret Baier,” Hume was overwhelmed by Trump’s approval rating near his second term’s 100-day mark.
“There’s a list of issues we ask people what they felt, and the president is all but one underwater, and that’s the border where he has high approval for it. The majority approval is on the water,” Hume told Baier.
Trump’s overall approval rate was 44%, close to where he stood at the same point in his first term, but Hume said the ongoing challenges are squeezing public awareness.
clock:
“For some reason, everything else, including immigrants who were separated from the border in this particular poll, is a bit under the water in immigrants. He is now down further on the economy, and even tariffs. “So, you know, the foreign policy assessment is not good. My thoughts on this, this is in my view, in my view, Brett. As mentioned earlier, his overall approval rating is 44%.
Still, Hume suggested there was room for the administration to rebound. If Trump can secure trade outcomes, resolve foreign conflicts and stabilize the economy, Hume believes these approval numbers could change in his favor. “I don’t know how that will unfold. I don’t know how foreign policy efforts will become the environment. There is no peace between Ukraine and Russia. He has made a promise.
Americans have remained skeptical of Trump’s economic agenda up until now, but his overall approval rate is around 42%. According to To Reuters. Those numbers surpassed former President Joe Biden’s rating for most of his term, with 45% of respondents saying they support Trump’s immigration policies.
Despite recent economic turmoil, Republicans continue to support Trump, with 81% saying they’ve approved his economic agenda, Reuters reported. In contrast, only 5% of Democrats and 28% of independent or unrelated voters said they supported his economic policies.
As part of his push to rebuild the global trading system, Trump imposed sudden tariffs. However, on Tuesday, he showed that these tariffs are likely to be significantly reduced in the near future.
