Ukraine gets nothing in Trump’s proposals for peace, says Boris Johnson | Ukraine

Boris Johnson said under his terms, Ukrainians “get nothing” in one of his first obvious criticisms of Donald Trump’s Ukrainian peace proposal.

The former British Prime Minister, a strong supporter of Ukraine near Ukrainian president Voldimi Zelensky, said he previously believed that there was a “madness method” of Trump’s approach and that the US president could bring peace.

However, in an X post, Johnson criticized the obvious terms of the deal Trump is pushing to accept him.

On Wednesday, Trump accused Zelenki of risking what he claimed was an imminent peace deal to end the war in Ukraine.

Russia then carried out one of the most devastating air attacks on the capital for several months, targeting Karkiv and other cities as well.

“President Putin indiscriminately slaughtered more Ukrainian civilians, killing and injuring 100 people in Kiev, including children,” Johnson posted. “And what is his reward under the latest peace proposal?

“1. The right to maintain the territory of sovereign Ukraine, which he took away from violence and violations of international law. 2. The right to control Ukraine’s fate by banning NATO membership. 3. The lifting of sanctions against Russia. 4. Economic partnership with the United States.

He added: “As for Ukraine, what will they get after three years of heroic resistance to a brutal and unprovoked aggression? What is their reward for the horrific sacrifices they have made?

“Aside from the right to share natural resources with the US, they get nothing. This transaction can realistically stop the third Russian invasion. There is nothing. To prevent more atrocities by Putin, it requires long-term, reliable, and most importantly, a proper funded security guarantee for Ukraine.

Kiel’s Starmer condemned the strike in Kiev on Wednesday night in Moscow, saying “it reminds us that Russia is an invader here and that it feels like it has been felt by the Ukrainians for three years. It is important that Russia brings Russia to an unconditional ceasefire.”

He added: “We are progressing towards a ceasefire. It must be a permanent ceasefire. But these attacks – these terrible attacks are the invaders here, and truly human reminders of the costs to the Ukrainians.”

Trump also criticized the strike in his true social network post. He states: “I am not satisfied with the Russian strike against Kiev. It is not necessary, very bad timing. Vladimir, stop! 5,000 soldiers are dying every week. Let’s end the peace agreement!”

Johnson previously criticised some of Trump’s language about Zelensky during the fallout in the White House, saying, “It’s scary to hear some of the languages that come from Washington about the people who started the war and Zelensky being a dictator.”

However, in the aftermath of the queue, Johnson once again defended Trump. Email linesaying that the war of words was “not intended to happen,” and that the US president had a viable plan for peace.
