President Drurulpadi Mahm on Friday paid tribute to Pope Francis at St. Peter’s Cathedral in Vatican City.
Pope Francis, the first non-European pope in nearly 300 years, passed away Monday. He was 88 years old.
His funeral will be held on Saturday.

Droupadi Murmu, who arrived here a day earlier, will be visiting the Vatican city for two days starting Friday, expressing his sadness on behalf of the government and the people of India.
“On April 26th, the President will be attending the funeral of his sacred Pope Francis in St. Peters Square, Vatican City, where senior officials from all over the world will be present,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) said in a statement.
India had declared three days of state mourning at the time of Pope Francis’ death.
Media reports cited the Vatican saying that around 164 delegations have been confirmed for Francis’ funeral. These include 54 heads of state and 12 sovereigns.
