“We understand that these changes are difficult and have been carefully considered given the market conditions and rising development costs,” the company said. “Looking ahead, we continue to focus on ensuring the value of Xbox players by providing more ways to play more games on any screen.”
The standard version of the Xbox Series X, a powerful flagship gaming console, ranges from $499.99 to $599.99.
The standard controller remains at its current price ($64.99 for black or white, and $69.99 for colorful versions), while limited edition controllers designed with artwork for Xbox games and other properties range from $79.99 to $89.99.
The Xbox wireless headset has received a $10 price increase from $109.99 to $119.99.

All of these increases are immediate and will hit retailers starting Thursday. Meanwhile, some first-party games, which mean games released by Microsoft itself, will go from $69.99 to $79.99 in retail starting this holiday season.
These include iconic Xbox franchises such as Halo, Gears of War and Forza Motorsport, but also for many years, franchises such as Minecraft, Call of Duty, Elder Scrolls, Fallout and Diablo.

Microsoft did not provide an exact reason for the price increase, but it is known that Xbox consoles are manufactured in China. This is a massive tariff target under the control of President Donald Trump.
