Mexico City authorities are trying to calm the public as they use public transport to deal with a wave of attacks in which victims are targeted while injecting unknown chemicals. The victim reported feeling a needle stab wound, followed by a loss of consciousness and confusion.
Since early March, the Mexico City Citizens' Security Office has recorded 20 separate cases from victims who were all injected while riding the metro. The Mexico City Attorney General's Office has conducted nine public investigations into the issue.
This week, a recent incident occurred this week when he reported that he felt dizzy, sleepy and weak right after being stabbed while riding the metro. The woman manages to stumble over her home in Kuoutemok Autonomous Region, where she sought help. The paramedics rushed to her house and were able to find the injection site in her left elbow while treating her.
Authorities reported that in known cases the victims were primarily women between the ages of 16 and 44. However, there were at least two cases where the victim was male. In all cases, the victim was on the subway when he reported that he felt a needle somewhere in his body.
