On Friday, the Biden administration directed Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to enlist the public’s help in locating illegal Jordanian immigrants who reportedly trespassed at significant Marine Corps bases in Virginia last year.
ICE mentioned in a notification on social media, “We will assist you in finding Mohammad Frog Hasan Mohammad Dabs.”
Dabous, 28, arrived in the U.S. as an international student on September 11, 2022, but according to ICE, he never actually attended any classes.
Both he and another Jordanian named Hasan Yousef Hamdan, 32, were arrested on May 3, 2024, for illegally entering the Kuncheongtik Marine Corps Base in Virginia.
It’s reported that Dabous drove a box truck with Hamdan in the passenger seat to the base.
Officers had to set up a “vehicle denial barrier” to prevent Dabous’s vehicle from advancing.
Both men were apprehended and subsequently handed over to ICE.
They secured their release the following month after posting bonds related to their immigration case.
While Hamdan was later arrested again by ICE, Dabous remains at large.
ICE suspects that Dabous “likely moved to the Los Angeles area and is now residing in Orange County, California.”
The agency has labeled Dabous a “person of interest” and urged anyone with information on his location to call 866-DHS-2-ICE.
A spokesman for the base, Colonel Michael Curtis, had previously indicated that Dabous claimed he and Hamdan were working for an Amazon subcontractor, delivering packages to the U.S. post office in Quantico.
However, Curtis clarified that they did not have the necessary approvals to access military facilities.
Dabous contended that the whole situation stemmed from “language barriers.”
