There’s been a lot of chatter about Abdul Carter and how he compares to Micah Parsons.
It kind of adds up, right? Both hail from the same university—Penn State—and play the edge rusher position, wearing the same number, 11, and are part of a similar defense style. It’s hard not to see the parallels when you check out their highlights.
The Giants are really hoping to snag Carter with the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. There’s some sort of cosmic connection here, especially considering they passed on Parsons back in 2021. Parsons has since racked up impressive stats: 52.5 sacks, 63 tackles for loss, and nine forced fumbles, to name a few, while making impactful plays against the Giants over four seasons with the Cowboys. He’s the ideal benchmark for Carter.
Carter’s play evokes memories of the Giants’ historic pass rushers. He has an instinct for recognizing what’s needed to neutralize those aggressive defenders who are constantly gunning for quarterbacks.
