GOP representative claims the US won’t endure without a sustainable financial strategy.

Representative Victoria Spartz (R-Ind.) stated on Wednesday that the United States “can’t survive” unless it embraces a “sustainable fiscal path.”

“If we don’t put our country on a sustainable financial path, we won’t be able to survive as a nation,” Spartz shared during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Weekday Night.”

Her remarks coincided with a warning from her and over 20 other Republicans to their party leaders that a significant bill currently being crafted in Congress to advance Trump’s agenda “should not add to the deficit.”

When co-host Simone Sanders Townsend asked whether she would “vote for a bill that has Medicaid cuts,” Spartz responded, “We’re trying to improve that.”

“So we actually want to make sure it’s better for the people that Medicaid is meant to serve,” she clarified.

In a letter issued on Wednesday, House Republicans reiterated their belief that the president’s backing for the “big, beautiful bill” is in process, affirming that it should adhere to the House blueprint.

“According to the House framework, the settlement bill should not increase the deficit. The House budget resolution assumes that implementing President Trump’s agenda, including the 2017 tax cuts, will generate $2.5 trillion in additional revenue through economic growth,” the letter stated.

However, a recent analysis from the Congressional Budget Office indicated that millions could lose health insurance coverage due to Republican proposals aimed at reducing Medicaid spending to support the president’s domestic policy initiatives.
