Trump supporter confronts Letitia James, questioning: ‘Will you say sorry?’

During a town hall event on Thursday night, hosted by New York Attorney General Letitia James, an unexpected moment unfolded when a supporter of former President Donald Trump confronted her. The gathering primarily featured individuals opposed to Trump, but one vocal supporter stood up to pose questions to James.

“Would you apologize to President Trump for wasting millions of New York taxpayers’ money on what could be seen as witch hunts?” he asked, continuing with a pointed comment about her potential fate related to mortgage fraud. The audience responded with loud booing, and he was subsequently escorted out.

Letitia James, known for her claims of extensive fraud against Trump and legal actions involving his family and businesses, did not directly reply to the man but expressed her gratitude to the crowd instead.

In the backdrop, Trump faced a significant ruling, initially ordered to pay $454 million in civil damages, a fine that was later reduced. He has labeled James’ legal actions against him as a “witch hunt,” emphasizing his belief that taxpayer dollars are misused in such pursuits.

Following this, the Department of Justice initiated a criminal investigation into James. There are discussions about a budget item that could require taxpayers to fund James’ legal defense, which raises eyebrows.

On a related note, the federal investigation stemmed from a complaint by William Pluto, from the federal housing finance agency, claiming that James misrepresented a Virginia home to secure better loan terms. Additionally, accusations have surfaced regarding her misrepresentation of units in a Brooklyn property.

Earlier this year, lawyer Pierre Debs remarked that James’ pursuit of Trump seemed like a manipulation of the legal system, suggesting it was a retaliatory action for the ongoing legal struggles they’ve faced against one another.
