France Responds to Viral Online Posts Spreading Rumors About Macron’s Meeting in Ukraine

Elise Responds to Rumors of Macron’s Cocaine Use

Elise is countering what some are calling a smear campaign following rumors that President Emmanuel Macron might have used cocaine during a recent diplomatic trip to Ukraine.

The official X account for Macron shared a post, stating, “This is tissue. To blow your nose,” accompanied by a zoomed-in image of three leaders emphasizing, “This is the unity of Europe. To build peace.”

Elise labeled the rumor as manipulation by France’s enemies, though she didn’t name anyone specifically.

“When European solidarity is challenged, disinformation turns ordinary items into drugs,” Elise remarked. “This fake news is propagated by those who oppose France, both abroad and domestically. We need to stay alert to such operations.”

Maria Zakharova, a spokesperson for Russia’s Foreign Ministry, seemed to escalate the situation. She stated, “It appears a Frenchman, a Brit, and a German got on the train, and it was a hit. The fate of Europe lies with these temporary figures dependent on drugs.”

Speculation surged after Macron appeared to discreetly pick up small white items while riding the train with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and British Prime Minister Kiel. Social media quickly jumped to conclusions, fueled by speculative commentary and doctored images.

One prominent tweet noted, “Three men and a bag of white powder,” while commenting on Macron’s alleged discreet gesture and Merz handling a spoon, questioning the nature of their discussion.

In a 2022 report, Visegrad 24 highlighted Zakharova’s reputation for “constant lies, alcohol consumption, and a controversial style.”

Recently, France accused Russia of engaging in cyber warfare aimed at spreading disinformation throughout Europe.
