Rep. Ogles Urges Speaker Johnson to Make Trump’s Executive Orders Law: ‘Fewer Vacations, More Legislation’

Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) expressed concern that while President Donald Trump has signed over 100 executive orders to promote America’s first agenda, Congress has fallen behind in making those policies law, as reported by Breitbart News.

In a letter obtained by Breitbart News, Ogles, along with 16 colleagues, called on House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) to move forward with legislating Trump’s executive orders.

“Some Republicans have seriously promised to support President Trump’s agenda during his campaign,” Ogles mentioned in a statement to Breitbart News. “It’s been over six months, and the House has done little to pass legislation that codifies Trump’s significant executive orders, which have positively impacted our country and turned around the setbacks initiated by the Biden administration.”

Seventeen Republicans have indicated that Trump’s accomplishments are at risk if not addressed soon, highlighting that “future Democrats could easily undo them.”

Ogles referenced Trump’s rigorous schedule as a model for the House to emulate.

“President Trump works diligently and continues to achieve success, without taking weekends off or vacations,” Ogles noted. “The House is dedicated to funding the MAGA mandate through legislation, but there’s no reason not to elevate it to law as well.”

“The clock is ticking; fewer holidays mean more urgency for codification.”

In their letter, the Republicans thanked Johnson for pushing a “critical” budget settlement package forward “at an unprecedented pace.” They hope this package, which Johnson aims to pass by Memorial Day, will support many of Trump’s legislative goals—like spending cuts and expanded tax cuts from 2017.

Ogles and his fellow Republicans want Johnson to apply “the same urgency” in securing Trump’s legacy by codifying his executive orders.

“We’re prepared to do anything necessary to expedite this process,” they stated.

The letter, which includes Ogles’ signatures, is co-signed by Republican representatives Keith Self (TX), Mark Harris (NC), Scott Perry (PA), Clay Higgins (LA), Barry Moore (LA), Mary Miller (IL), Eli Crane (AZ), Brandon Gill (TX), Ralph Norman (SC), Michael Cloud (TX), Ben Cline (VA), Tim Burchett (TN), and Paul Gosar (AZ).
