Upon arriving in Qatar on Wednesday for a four-day trip to the Middle East, President Donald Trump and his entourage were met by a group of camels. It was quite a sight, and Trump expressed his appreciation. “We thank those camels,” he remarked during a meeting with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, the Qatari leader. “I haven’t seen a camel like that in ages, and we’re genuinely grateful.”
As Trump made his way from Doha Airport to the Amiridiwan, which serves as the central hub for Qatar’s government, his convoy featured a striking red Tesla Cybertruck. This seemed like a nod to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, given the context.
During his visit, Trump signed several agreements, including a deal for Qatar to purchase Boeing aircraft, as well as an agreement for cooperation between Qatar and the United States. He arrived in Doha intending to meet with local leaders and attend a dinner in the country.
The agreements made during this visit are projected to be quite significant, amounting to about $600 billion. This follows Trump’s earlier trip to Saudi Arabia where he finalized a “Strategic Economic Partnership” related to energy, defense, mining, and space contracts. He claimed that these agreements could generate approximately 2 million jobs in the U.S.
Saudi Arabia also rolled out the red carpet for Trump, with dramatic gestures such as fighter jet escorts for his arrival and a personal reception from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the tarmac. To top it off, a mobile McDonald’s, which happens to be Trump’s favorite fast-food chain, was set up in Riyadh during his time there.
