Ex-White House Advisor Discovers Easy Method to Avoid Question on Biden’s Health

Concerns Surrounding Biden’s Health and Reelection Bid

Jake Sullivan, who served as national security adviser during Biden’s presidency, expressed skepticism regarding the state of Biden’s health. At a recent political forum, he noted that his role kept him somewhat detached from political discussions about whether Biden should seek reelection in 2024. Sullivan mentioned he was “insulated” from making political decisions and didn’t explicitly state whether he thought Biden was making a mistake by running again.

“Being a national security adviser means you’re often cut off from politics,” Sullivan remarked. He referenced strict rules that limited his political involvement during his tenure, emphasizing his separation from those kinds of decisions.

Meanwhile, a new book titled “Original Sin,” authored by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’ Alex Thompson, sheds light on Biden’s declining physical and mental health. There were discussions among White House aides about potentially needing to use a wheelchair for Biden due to his worsening condition, including issues with walking and spinal degeneration. They were reportedly concerned this could negatively impact his reelection chances.

Axios informs us that aides noted Biden’s struggles, citing his recovery from a foot fracture in November 2020, which his doctor, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, confirmed had healed. However, O’Connor cautioned that if Biden fell again in 2023 or 2024, the team might have to consider a wheelchair. He also highlighted that the demands of the presidency were taking a toll on Biden’s health, frequently requesting that staff allow for more rest in his schedule.

Following an incident in June 2023 when Biden fell, his team grew increasingly cautious, recommending shorter walks, the use of handrails, and the wearing of sneakers to enhance his safety ahead of the upcoming election.

Concerns about Biden’s health have persisted, especially leading up to the presidential debate on June 27. After the debate, some Democrats urged Biden to withdraw from the race, hoping for a better chance against likely Republican candidate Donald Trump.

Interestingly, Tapper defended Biden against critiques regarding his cognitive abilities, especially after comments from Lara Trump, who suggested that Biden was experiencing cognitive decline. Thompson also criticized the Biden administration for allegedly downplaying these health issues and took the media to task for not addressing the concerns more openly.
