Treasury Secretary Advocates for GOP Support of Trump’s Tax Bill

Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent is rallying for “full GOP support” for President Donald Trump’s ambitious tax plan, which he refers to as the “Big Beautiful Building,” aiming to prioritize American interests.

“With full GOP backing, we’ll see @Potus’ ‘one big beautiful bill’ come to fruition, providing tax breaks, increasing wages, and revitalizing US manufacturing,” Bescent stated in a message earlier on Friday.

He highlighted that the bill would allow families to save between $4,000 and $5,000. Other projected benefits include increases in real wages, which could range from $2,100 to $3,300 per worker, along with deductions for loans on American-made vehicles.

Bescent also echoed Trump’s call for lawmakers to unite as the House Budget Committee deliberates over the bill. He emphasized that Republicans “must come together” to make this legislation a reality.

Trump asserted, “We will not only reduce taxes for all Americans but also drive millions of undocumented immigrants out of Medicaid, ensuring those who genuinely need it can access it,” cautioning that without this legislation, taxes could rise significantly, potentially causing considerable strain on the nation.

He remarked, “It’s going to face criticism from Democrats, but it won’t assist our voters.” He further urged, “Stop the talk; it’s time for action. We need to address the chaos that Biden and the Democrats have created. Thanks for focusing on this issue!”

This discussion arises as Republican leaders strive to ensure consensus among all members of the Caucus to support the bill and push it to the House Budget Committee.

Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) described the bill as “a generational opportunity to advance President Trump’s agenda,” expressing optimism about its potential impact.
