Prince Albert and Princess Charlene of Monaco recently shared some candid thoughts about their personal lives, mentioning the challenges they face with their two children.

In a notable interview, Albert, who married Charlene in 2011, spoke about his role in the Monegasque monarchy, which he has led for over two decades.

“First and foremost, I take pride in my marriage and my children,” the 67-year-old expressed, referring to their 10-year-old twins, Prince Jack and Princess Gabriella.

Albert continued, “I believe the Principality has evolved in many ways. There’s been significant physical development, including the construction of a new hospital. While we’ve seen progress like Maletella, there are other important improvements to note.”

“The establishment of my foundation was a significant step, even if the government has also been actively supporting sustainable development initiatives through various projects,” he added.

“Yet, I think there’s a more personal aspect to this contribution that needs to be prioritized, especially in urgent situations,” he mentioned.

Charlene, 47, also spoke about their twins, who were born in 2014. “The kids keep me feeling youthful,” she said. “They can be quite challenging to manage.”

Although their lives might seem idyllic from the outside, both have denied rumors about their relationship, which has faced challenges in recent years.

In 2020, following a trip to South Africa, Charlene didn’t return to Monaco, which fueled speculation about their marriage, especially when it became clear she was often in Switzerland and would see Albert only by appointment.

Her Instagram account, which had around 464,000 followers, was suddenly taken down.

Rumors about their marriage surfaced even before their wedding, when it was reported that Charlene had fled the palace, only to return shortly before the ceremony.

In 2023, the princess addressed the speculations, stating in an interview in South Africa, “There’s no truth to the rumors about our marriage.”

Charlene further remarked, “There’s nothing wrong between us. The rumors are just exhausting and seem to stem from certain media and individuals wanting us to part ways.”

That same month, Albert defended his wife during an interview with an Italian publication, saying, “Charlene has always supported me in leading the principality. We lead busy lives; sometimes, we only catch up at the end of a long day filled with appointments.”

However, accusations also emerged suggesting that Albert was concealing payments to former partners without Charlene’s knowledge.
