Senate Approves Trump’s Policy Unanimously
The Senate has passed President Donald Trump’s general policy without dissent. On Tuesday, he received 100 votes, thanks to the efforts of Senators Ted Cruz from Texas and Jackie Rosen from Nevada, who were pivotal in advancing the legislation. This reflects a key point in Trump’s campaign, prominently featured in his vision of a “big and beautiful bill,” and it stands as a bipartisan achievement for the country.
“This law will significantly benefit millions of Americans by protecting their hard-earned money,” Cruz stated after the bill’s passage. He mentioned forming a bipartisan coalition in Congress to address tax regulations on tips. “I went to the Senate floor with my colleagues to ensure this legislation succeeded.”
Moreover, Cruz emphasized the significant impact this law will have on blue-collar workers, urging his colleagues to support the bill and expedite its delivery to the president for signing.
Interestingly, while the support for the bill is strong, Rosen took a moment to critique the president, yet ultimately, she regarded the bill as a win for her constituents. “For many workers in service and hospitality, tips are essential, forming a vital part of their income,” she remarked. “Tips help Nevadans pay rent and provide for their families.”
