Dramatic dashcam video captures dump truck crashing into New Jersey house

An alarming video from a dashcam captured a moment when a dump truck weighing 73,000 pounds collided violently with a home in New Jersey, resulting in injuries to residents and significant property damage.

Authorities believe the driver experienced a medical issue right before the crash, which took place in Woodbury on Tuesday afternoon, according to local police.

In the dashcam footage obtained by ABC, the truck was seen navigating down a two-lane road, veering into the median, and hitting a utility pole across the street.

The truck, laden with concrete sand, then barreled across several front yards, crossed another street, jumped a curb, and smashed into the corner house, as shown in the clip.

The crash occurred around 1:30 PM on Tuesday.

Images from the scene reveal a large truck embedded in the two-story home, debris scattered about.

After the truck was removed, the house was ultimately demolished, as reported by ABC.

The owner of the trucking company mentioned that their driver, a long-time employee, remained trapped in the vehicle for almost three hours before being safely extricated.

“He was unsure of what had transpired. All he knew was that he was stuck in the truck,” said owner Charles Zeisloft.

A witness, David Keating, recounted how he rushed into the house to assist the homeowner.

“I managed to make eye contact with him through a gap where the floor had broken apart and was able to converse with him for about ten minutes until paramedics arrived,” he shared with ABC.

Police confirmed that an investigation is underway.
