Sally Quinn, a well-known Washington Post columnist, made strong accusations during an interview with journalist Tara Palmeli, claiming Jill pushed Joe to seek re-election despite noticeable cognitive decline.

Quinn stated, “I’m responsible for this. Jill Biden is his wife. And if she had said, ‘Joe can’t do that,’ he wouldn’t have been running.” This criticism highlights a perceived lack of protection from Jill as Joe continues to campaign into mid-2024, raising questions about his suitability for a second term.

Quinn openly expressed her concerns, saying, “She wasn’t protecting him… I thought it was really abuse.” She believes that Biden’s health issues are not a secret within Washington circles, and the fact that so many felt he shouldn’t run for office again is telling. The reactions from his staff, as described by Quinn, also point to a general unease about his capability to fulfill another term.

Reflecting on the situation, Quinn said, “It’s scary for everyone to be put in a position where he was allowed to run by his staff and his wife.” She observed that many people felt compassion for him but it seemed to her a selfish choice to continue in office. These feelings were compounded by her personal experiences; she noted that Biden’s behavior reminded her of her late husband, who suffered from dementia.

Furthermore, there were revelations regarding Biden’s alleged late-stage cancer diagnosis, which some insiders found surprising and troubling. Quinn questioned how this could have gone unnoticed, suggesting the former president should have received the best medical care and that a diagnosis should have come much earlier.

Amid discussions around Biden’s health, a spokesman confirmed that the last prostate cancer screening took place in 2014. The recent revelations are being scrutinized further due to a book that discusses his cognitive decline and the struggles around his decision to run again.
