Ex-ESPN Host Sarah Spain’s Gripes About Wokeness Being Removed from Airwaves Will Make You Laugh

ESPN Cancels ‘Around the Corner’

As the final episode of “Around the Corner” airs on Friday, host Tony Leary expresses confusion about ESPN’s decision to end the show. He claims he “doesn’t understand” why the program is being canceled.

Sara Spain, a past ESPN employee and panelist on the show, suggests that there are deeper issues at play. “It confuses them that they’re cancelling it,” she stated in an interview with the Washington Post. “This format allows for a continuous stream of new voices to showcase reporters on your network. I might be biased, but you’re removing a progressive voice and representation of people of color from television.”

Looking back, Spain reflects on her high school days and says, “I wasn’t a fan back then… but I’m 34 now, and things needed to change.”

While she has her strong views, I can’t completely dismiss Sara Spain. In an industry where many women aim to stand out for various reasons, she seems to navigate sports journalism with integrity, and I appreciate that.

However, her other opinions, particularly on political matters, and the show itself come off as quite canned… which is a bit laughable, honestly.
