Oracle Invests $40 Billion in Nvidia Chips for OpenAI’s Data Center

Oracle announced on Friday that it will invest approximately $40 billion in Nvidia’s high-performance chips intended for OpenAI’s new data center in the United States.

Reports indicate that cloud service providers have acquired around 400,000 of Nvidia’s GB200 chips, leasing computing capacity to OpenAI, according to sources familiar with the matter.

Neither OpenAI, Nvidia, nor Oracle provided immediate comments to Reuters regarding the announcement.

This data center is a component of the Stargate project in the U.S., which is spearheaded by leading AI firms in the nation, enhancing America’s standing in the artificial intelligence sector amid increasing global competition.
