Kendra Randle, the wife of Knicks forward Julius Randle, stirred up some buzz on Tuesday by sharing a video of a wine toast on her social media. This came just as news broke of the Knicks’ decision to fire Coach Tom Thibodeau.
In the clip, Kendra is seen toasting with a glass while enjoying a vacation. It was, I guess, an interesting coincidence. “I don’t know if this is a coincidence lmao,” one user on X quipped.
“This is crazy,” another user commented, complete with a crying emoji. Knicks fan pages responded with wide-eyed emojis, showing their surprise.
In the midst of her family vacation, Kendra shared several videos on Instagram Stories, with this toast video quickly capturing attention.
Julius, now 30, has been with the Knicks since 2019, having earned three All-Star selections over five seasons.
Following a shock trade to the Timberwolves along with teammate Donte DiVincenzo, Kendra reflected on their time in New York, expressing gratitude. She posted, “New York! Thank you for a wonderful five years,” on Instagram, appreciating the experiences their family had while living there.
Julius Randle had notable performances this postseason, averaging 21.7 points, which was an improvement from his past two playoff runs with the Knicks.
The Knicks announced the end of Thibodeau’s five-season tenure shortly after they were eliminated by the Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals. Knicks President Leon Rose stated the organization is committed to winning a championship and that it was a tough but necessary decision.
This marks the Knicks’ first Eastern Conference Finals appearance since 2000.
