Father-to-be Aiden Hernandez shared a touching last message before he was tragically killed by a falling tree branch.

Last week, a 19-year-old from Colorado tragically lost his life when a wooden limb fell on him at his workplace while he was there to support a friend with his girlfriend.

Aiden Hernandez was involved in a work incident in Colorado Springs at around 10 a.m. on May 29. First responders worked urgently to give him CPR, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

The recent graduate of Woodland Park High School and star football player was unable to survive the injuries he sustained.

While the specifics of the incident haven’t been disclosed, the sudden loss has deeply affected the community.

“I was devastated. I can’t believe it’s real,” said his former soccer coach Chad Drummond in an interview. “I’m still processing it.”

“He was an incredible young man, full of energy, and had a smile that could light up a room. He brought an intense spirit, even as a kid,” he added.

Aiden was deeply in love with his long-term girlfriend, Michaela Boling, and they were expecting their son, Zion Hernandez.

“He was all set to be an amazing father and partner, eager to create a loving and adventurous life,” a tribute noted.

On the day of his passing, Hernandez had shared a heartfelt post on Facebook reflecting on the approaching arrival of their child, along with sweet pictures of the two of them.

“I can’t put into words how much I adore this woman and anticipate meeting our little one! I’ll be thankful forever and counting down the days until we welcome Little ZI,” he wrote earlier.

Michaela shared similar feelings, expressing her excitement for their growing family, stating that life feels like it’s just beginning for them.

Hernandez was remembered as a loving son and devoted brother, someone who truly lived life to its fullest.

“He embraced every adventure—whether it was jumping off cliffs, hiking in the mountains, or swimming across the Pueblo Reservoir, he faced it all with courage and a bright smile,” the tribute continued.

“Even in tough situations, Aiden focused on lifting others up and savoring every moment.”
