Missiles from Iran Strike Arab Muslim Village of Tamra

On Saturday evening, Iran launched a missile attack that hit Tamura, an Arab Muslim town located east of Haifa, Israel.

The Israeli Homefront Command issued a nationwide warning after detecting missile launches from Iran, prompting residents in northern Israel to seek shelter as the threat became apparent.

Social media exploded with videos showing missiles flying over northern Israel and Lebanon.

According to Israeli Army Radio, one individual sustained serious injuries, while several others suffered minor injuries. Later reports indicated that one woman had been killed and 13 people injured. (update: The death toll rose to three, with 14 others slightly injured.)

There were also unconfirmed reports of missile impacts in the Haifa region.

Haifa and its northern areas have a diverse population, comprising both Arab and Jewish communities. It’s not unusual for rocket attacks in Israel to affect Arabs connected to Lebanon’s Hezbollah conflict.

Iran tends to launch missiles at night, which reduces the chances of detection by Israeli reconnaissance aircraft.

While Iran continued its missile attacks on Israel, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) stated that Israeli fighter jets were targeting sites in Tehran. There was also an attack reported in Yemen aimed at the military leader of the Houthis.

Information regarding the impacts of these attacks was not confirmed as of the publication time.

Israeli Army Radio announced that schools across the country will close next week. Additionally, the closure of Ben Gurion International Airport has led to arrangements for special flights to Greece and Cyprus, assisting Israelis stranded abroad since the onset of the conflict.
