NASCAR Makes Its Debut in Mexico City with Viva México 250
This weekend, NASCAR is venturing into Mexico for the inaugural Viva México 250. It’s notable, not just because it’s the first Cup Series event at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, but also the first point-earning race in the series outside the U.S. since 1958, when they took to the streets of Toronto.
The track, recognized for hosting the annual Formula 1 Mexico City Grand Prix, is set at a remarkable elevation, making it the highest circuit in the NASCAR Cup Series. Spanning 2.429 miles and featuring 15 turns, this race will consist of 100 laps.
