Gutfeld Addresses Immigration Issues on Fox News
On Monday’s segment of “The Five,” Greg Gutfeld criticized Democrats, asserting that the US is in dire need of intervention regarding illegal immigration.
Since President Donald Trump’s administration began, Democrats have voiced opposition to various parts of his agenda. Recently, they have targeted efforts to manage illegal immigration, with Gutfeld pointing to the Biden administration as a significant contributor to the current situation, particularly in cities like Los Angeles that have adopted sanctuary policies.
“You can’t provide everything for free and ignore border security,” Gutfeld stated. “I think we all understand the importance of borders. The issue is that, apparently, they don’t see it that way. There’s been a systematic disregard for borders under the current administration, though the details of that are a bit murky to me.”
He added, “No, we don’t have to listen to everything you say. Harold, you’ve brought up the border issue, so maybe we can consider your viewpoint. But many haven’t been holding that position.”
During Biden’s term, millions of illegal immigrants have crossed the southern border, with monthly encounters peaking at around 160,000, an alarming rise that averages 15,000 daily.
This border crisis has become crucial for voters, especially in light of recent tragedies involving young victims that have ignited public outrage.
“If we started to seriously discuss deportation, we’d probably be left with no country,” Gutfeld remarked. “This situation calls for intervention. If this crisis didn’t exist, we might have other discussions, but here we are. It’s serious and significant.”
He noted, “We can’t fully rely on Democrats. They seem more concerned with minor issues than the welfare of illegal immigrants or the aftermath of lost children.” Gutfeld humorously referred to the frustrations of some individuals, like Jerry Nadler, regarding seemingly trivial matters.
Democrats have rallied against Trump’s plans for large-scale deportations of illegal immigrants during Biden’s term, pushing against the use of detention centers for individuals like Kilmer Armando Abrego Garcia.
In May, Democratic Mayor Las Baraka was arrested while protesting outside an immigration detention facility, attempting to accompany representatives on a tour. This situation escalated later, resulting in charges against New Jersey Rep. Ramonica McQuiver for allegedly assaulting a law enforcement officer.
Since Trump’s presidency began, immigration enforcement activity has significantly decreased, and more than 100,000 illegal immigrants have been detained as part of the second term efforts.
