US Embassy in Jerusalem to Close Amid Escalating Tensions

The US State Department has announced that the embassy in Jerusalem will remain closed from Wednesday to Friday this week. The closure will also affect the consular sections in both Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

“In light of the security situation and adherence to Israel’s Homefront Command Guidance, the US Embassy in Jerusalem will be closed until Friday, including consulate sections,” stated the announcement.

Furthermore, travel advisories for Israel have been upgraded to “Level 4,” the highest warning level, advising against travel due to ongoing “armed conflict, terrorism, and civil unrest.”

“The current security landscape in Israel, especially in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, is quite unpredictable. We urge US citizens to stay vigilant and take proper security precautions, as incidents like rocket fire and UAV intrusions could occur unexpectedly,” the State Department added.

In related news, Israeli Ambassador to the US, Mike Huckabee, informed reporters that the US embassy in Tel Aviv experienced minor damages from a nearby Iranian missile strike, but fortunately, there were no reported injuries.

He also shared that there are plans in place for the evacuation of US citizens looking to leave Israel on Wednesday.

“Emergency Notice! American citizens who wish to leave Israel can register for evacuation flights and ship departures through the Smart Traveler Registration Program (STEP),” Huckabee posted on social media.

As the situation unfolds, President Donald Trump is actively monitoring the Israel-Iran conflict. He recently made a post revealing that the US knows the location of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei.

“We know exactly where the so-called ‘Super Leader’ is hiding. He’s an easy target, but for now, I won’t take him out,” Trump stated.

In a follow-up message, Trump called for Iran to “unconditionally surrender” and urged a public response from Khamenei.

“The Iranian people should never surrender,” Khamenei replied. “Iran and its people will never speak to this country in a language of threats, as surrender is not an option.”
