Sen. Cruz Discusses Trump’s Foreign Policy on “Hannity”
During an appearance on FNC’s “Hannity” on Tuesday, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) expressed his belief that President Donald Trump has remained consistent in his foreign policy stance regarding the conflict between Israel and Iran.
Cruz rejected the idea that Trump was an “isolationist.”
“This topic has been a subject of debate for years. We’ve discussed this program extensively. Under Joe Biden, we’ve allowed the Iranians to flourish economically, which has led them to develop their weapons and nuclear capabilities. Just under a month ago, the IAEA could even monitor weapon-grade uranium,” Cruz stated.
He further added, “You accurately pointed out in your opening remarks that Israel has the capability to handle much of this. Yet, they face technical challenges in specific areas, particularly in Fold. The Fordau area poses difficulties as it’s situated in mountainous regions. Interestingly, the Ayatollahs appear to be concerned about climate change and are investing in nuclear technology rather than focusing on protecting America.”
“Donald J. Trump has never been an isolationist,” he stated. “He’s not advocating for unnecessary military interventions. While we don’t aim to deploy troops in Iran, we saw during Trump’s first term a decisive defeat of ISIS and its caliphate. Tonight, we should keep the people of Israel in our thoughts and prayers.”
