Washington Unveils “Path to Freedom” Exhibit

The White House introduced the “Path to Freedom: The Moment of Building Men, Women and the United States” exhibit during an event on Tuesday at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.

This exhibition from PragerU showcases portraits along the hall, providing an interactive experience that honors significant figures and moments from the American Revolution, especially as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary.

Visitors can scan a QR code located next to the portraits, which leads to the PragerU website. There, viewers can engage with content that brings historical figures to life, including videos on President John Adams and other founding fathers.

Marissa Streit, CEO of PragerU, expressed appreciation for being part of the celebration, stating that it’s a privilege to contribute to America’s milestone in independence.

She remarked on the current administration’s vision and dedication to the country, especially as it prepares for the 250th birthday, which she believes will invoke a sense of pride among all Americans.

The ceremony included both children and adults, who pledged their loyalty to the nation before country singer Alexis Wilkins performed the national anthem.

Streit noted that those dedicated to patriotic education play a crucial role in the narrative of Western civilization, emphasizing the importance of upholding American principles and sharing affection for freedom.

Education Secretary Linda McMahon took the stage next, promoting the Second Lady’s Summer Reading Challenge aimed at elementary and junior high students. She encouraged the participating children to delve into the challenge and engaged in conversations about historical content they encountered during the event.

Vance shared her thoughts on the significance of the exhibit, reflecting on how history is dynamic, rather than a mere collection of facts. After Vance’s remarks, Streit directed the children’s attention to PragerU’s July 4th Declaration Ceremony, designed to teach young people the essence of freedom. The children participated in signing a mock declaration of independence while Wilkins sang “God Bless America.”

The exhibit honors pivotal events from the Revolution, featuring moments like the Battle of Lexington and Concord, Paul Revere’s midnight ride, and Patrick Henry’s “give me liberty or give me death” speech.

Among the displayed portraits are those of notable founding fathers, such as John Hancock and Samuel Adams. The exhibition also includes significant women from the era, like Abigail Adams and Dolley Madison.

This unveiling is poised to take place on July 4th, just ahead of America’s milestone 250th birthday.
