Texas Governor Enhances Security Measures Following US-Iran Tensions

In light of recent events surrounding the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has directed an increase in patrols around specific “high-risk locations” associated with the Texas State Guard and the Department of Public Safety. He emphasized the need for vigilance to protect local communities.

In a written statement, Abbott noted, “Due to the heightened focus on security, Texas will bolster preparations for the Department of Public Safety and the Texas State Guard. They will increase patrols in vulnerable areas and be ready to address potential threats.” He added, “Currently, there’s no reason to panic, and I intend to keep it that way.”

Abbott expressed support for what he termed President Trump’s “decisive action” regarding the military’s response. “Texas stands with American commanders. Our commitment is to safeguard our communities while backing our military efforts,” he stated.

Reports indicate that his orders followed an airstrike by the U.S. Air Force at an Iranian nuclear site. Specifically, three B-2 stealth bombers were deployed, delivering six bunker-buster bombs to key facilities in locations like Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.

President Trump remarked following the attack, “Fordow is gone,” signaling a significant development in the military campaign.

In a swift response, Iranian media have issued threats, targeting U.S. military installations in the Middle East, stating, “Mr. Trump, you started it, and we’ll finish it.” This comment comes amidst an atmosphere of escalating tension.

Trump has also conveyed stern warnings to Iranian leaders who might contemplate retaliation for the recent strikes.

In addition to the B-2 bombers, the U.S. Navy has reportedly launched 30 Tomahawk cruise missiles aimed at nuclear sites in Natanz and Isfahan.

Governor Abbott reiterated his stance, saying that unity and vigilance are crucial in these tense times. His statement emphasized, “To achieve the highest safety standards within our community, Texas will strengthen its preparations and security measures, particularly in high-risk areas. Right now, there’s nothing to fear, and we aim to keep it that way.”
