New Details on Trump’s Strike Against Iran’s Nuclear Program

Chairman Pete Hegseth and Chief of Staff Dan Kane shared significant information on Saturday regarding President Donald Trump’s unprecedented military action against Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

Hegseth and Kane stated that the operation, dubbed “Operation Midnight Hammer,” involved a level of deception. They expressed admiration for the American troops, who they felt executed the mission flawlessly. While a segment of the B-2 bomber fleet navigated westward across the Pacific as a diversion, the main forces struck Iran from the east at around 6:40 PM.

“The world should really listen when this president speaks,” Hegseth remarked.

He further clarified that only nuclear sites in Iran were targeted, assuring that civilians were not affected.

“Many presidents have aspired to deliver a decisive blow to Iran’s nuclear ambitions, but none succeeded,” Hegseth shared with reporters at the press conference on Sunday. “The operation crafted by President Trump is bold. It signifies that America’s deterrence has rebounded, and the global community ought to pay attention.”

“No other nation could even begin to implement the strategy outlined by the chairman this morning,” Hegseth added.

Kane confirmed that U.S. forces in the vicinity had not been informed beforehand about the upcoming strike, though they were already alert to rising tensions and risks.

“This operation underscores the unmatched capabilities and vast reach of the U.S. military,” Kane stated. “As the president clearly articulated last night, such an action couldn’t occur without military presence worldwide.”

Operation Midnight Hammer was executed without any leaks, with only a few Congressional members alerted shortly after the strike was conducted.

Hegseth emphasized that there was no intent to escalate the situation into a full-blown conflict. However, he cautioned that any retaliation from Iran would lead to further military repercussions.

“As President Trump noted, the U.S. is not courting war, but let me be clear,” Hegseth asserted. “We respond swiftly and decisively when our people, allies, or interests face threats. Iran should heed the president’s words; they carry weight.”

Trump announced the airstrike shortly after his arrival at the White House on Saturday afternoon. Interestingly, he did not engage with the press when he came out onto the Southern lawn, but he did take a moment to admire a newly erected flagpole before heading inside.
