Iran Marks 'Triumph' against Israel and the U.S. with Parade in Tehran

Iran Celebrates “Victory” in 12-Day Conflict with Israel

The Iranian government held a parade in Tehran to commemorate what it claims was a triumph in a recent 12-day war with Israel. This comes despite the fact that many observers view the situation as a significant defeat for Iran against a considerably smaller adversary.

For decades, Iran has been embroiled in conflict with both Israel and the United States, authorizing actions that have resulted in casualties among Israelis and Americans. This has formed part of a broader terrorist agenda worldwide. The so-called “Wheel of Fire” theory suggests that Iran has created proxies, like Hamas, to diminish Israel’s capabilities and distract from its own nuclear ambitions. The conflict reignited on October 7th when Hamas, acting on behalf of Iran, perpetrated a terrorist strike in Israel.

Surprisingly, Israel launched a swift and effective counterstrike on June 12th, which wreaked havoc on Iranian military infrastructure. Within a matter of days, Israeli forces reportedly disabled several command structures, eliminating key nuclear scientists involved in weapon development, and destroying a significant portion of Iran’s ballistic missile launchers. Major nuclear sites also sustained damage, alongside attacks aimed at showcasing the regime’s vulnerabilities to its populace.

Additionally, American airstrikes on June 22 specifically targeted three nuclear facilities, including the underground site at Fordow, further complicating Iran’s military standing.

Despite these setbacks, the Iranian regime celebrated its “win.” Images from the parade featured participants hoisting the national flag alongside a banner displaying Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the so-called “supervisor” of the nation’s actions.

Further illustrating the atmosphere of triumph, crowds in Tehran rallied on June 24, expressing support for the regime’s narrative that it had successfully outmaneuvered both the US and Israel, particularly after an alleged attack on a U.S. Air Force base in Qatar.

Throughout the conflict, the Iranian regime has utilized propaganda to assert that it was defeating Israel and that American military actions had little impact. The government has also reportedly restricted internet access and external information to control the narrative.

In the aftermath of the war, there are indications that the Iranian administration has begun to exert tighter control over opposition, employing armed guards and summary executions without formal trials for suspected dissidents.
