Lawyer for Sean 'Diddy' Combs in courthouse emergency situation

On Wednesday, a dramatic scene unfolded in the courtroom of Shawn “Diddy” Combs. Members of the rap mogul’s legal team rushed to assist a man who suffered a seizure right outside the courtroom.

This incident occurred shortly after a bail application for Combs was denied. As chief attorney Mark Agnifilo was leaving the 26th-floor courtroom at the Manhattan Federal Courthouse, he noticed the man collapse.

Agnifilo, who was on his way to meet someone in a holding cell, quickly intervened to help the man who was hitting his head on the marble floor. He positioned the individual sideways to prevent any risk of choking or aspirating vomit.

Agnifilo’s colleague, Jacob Kaplan, placed his backpack under the man’s head for comfort. Meanwhile, Agnifilo’s daughter, Sofia, who works as a paralegal, was also present.

Reflecting on the experience, Agnifilo said, “I’ve never encountered such a hectic five minutes in my life.” He mentioned that everything felt intense, and his mind was preoccupied with the situation.

“It looked quite serious. I was genuinely concerned for him,” he added.

“Having dealt with many seizures in the past, I knew what to do,” the lawyer explained.

Once the man seemed to stabilize, Agnifilo left the scene before emergency services arrived. Shortly thereafter, a stretcher was seen exiting the courtroom with the individual still unknown.

Agnifilo mentioned that after a brief meeting with Combs, he intended to address the media alongside the legal team.

Earlier that morning, Combs was convicted on two counts related to prostitution, but he was also found guilty of serious charges, which included sex trafficking and assault. These verdicts emerged following a two-month trial that revealed details about incidents involving his ex-girlfriend and a male escort.

Agnifilo’s client’s complicated relationship with his former partner, Kathy Ventura, raised eyebrows, even amid claims that Combs had physically abused her.

In a separate note, Agnifilo shared that he had reached out to his opposing counsel, Tenny Jelagos, at 3 AM, indicating he was preparing for bail proceedings.

“I thought he was convicted under Mann Law, and acquitted of the other charges,” he claimed, referencing the legal terminology for prostitution-related offenses.

Combs faces a potential sentence of up to ten years for each of the two counts in his upcoming October sentencing.
