Joy Behar’s Advice to Andrew Cuomo on Mayoral Run
On Tuesday’s episode of “The View,” co-host Joy Behar shared that she advised former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to appear on the show if he wanted to have a shot at winning the New York City mayoral election.
While discussing her past week, Behar mentioned attending a wedding where she encountered Cuomo along with other liberal personalities. “I told Andrew Cuomo, ‘If you want to get a chance, you have to come and ‘Look,'” she recalled.
Republicans Seize on Cuomo’s Defeat
Mamdani, a democratic socialist, defeated Cuomo in the Democratic primary, although Cuomo is still running as an independent in the upcoming general election. Cuomo was New York’s governor from 2011 to 2021 before resigning amid a sexual harassment controversy.
The current mayor, Eric Adams, is also running as an independent.
Political Dynamics Shifting in New York
Cuomo and Adams have exchanged criticisms, particularly over who should exit the race. Following the Democratic nominations, Mamdani has emerged as the frontrunner according to major polling in key areas.
“I think everyone should line up behind the winner as mayor,” Adams commented during a press conference.
In a contrasting viewpoint, a senior advisor to Cuomo remarked that “for Mayor Adams, there is no way to victory.” Interestingly, Adams later claimed that Cuomo had suggested he step back from the race.
