Trump Responds to Drone Assassination Threats
WASHINGTON – President Trump recently addressed claims that Iranian officials are using drones for potential assassination attempts, humorously pointing out he hasn’t basked in sunlight for quite some time, specifically years.
“It’s been a while. I think I was, like, seven or so? I’m not a big sunbather,” he remarked to reporters at the White House on Wednesday.
He added, “I think it’s a threat. I’m not entirely sure if it’s a real threat, but, you know, probably is.”
Javad Larijani, a senior adviser to Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei, suggested that retaliation could be coming for the U.S. bombing of three significant nuclear sites last month, which was aimed at curbing the Islamic Republic’s nuclear ambitions.
“Trump did something, so he can’t sunbathe in Mar-a-Lago anymore,” Larijani claimed.
He quipped, “A little drone could easily hit him right in the belly button while he’s lying there with his stomach exposed to the sun.”
Interestingly, Trump often spends his weekends outside, enjoying golf, but it’s noted that he reportedly prefers spray tanning.
Tehran had nearly agreed to a ceasefire between Israel and Trump just about 48 hours after a U.S. strike, only to respond with missile attacks on a U.S. airbase in Qatar.
There have been suggestions that Iran has previously attempted to target Trump in retaliation for the 2020 drone strike that killed General Qasem Soleimani in Iraq.
In November, there were reports claiming the Justice Department may have collaborated with Iran to monitor Trump, leading to accusations against an individual named Farhad Shakkari. Authorities arrested two associates, Carlisle Rivera from Brooklyn and Jonathan Lordholt from Staten Island.
Additionally, a video purportedly created in Iran depicted Trump’s assassination on a golf course and has reportedly won a contest focused on Soleimani’s perceived revenge.
