Ex-wife in California monitored Yantzy Villefranche and Acacia Young through Ring cameras in their San Diego residence.

An ex-wife is reportedly stirring trouble for her former husband and his new partner by allegedly acquiring over 700 hours of footage from a home camera.

Bill Franche and his fiancée, Acacia Young, have accused Franche’s ex-wife of spying by accessing their indoor Ring camera. They initially set up the camera because one of their kids had begun sleepwalking, as revealed through court documents and a report.

“I can’t even describe how violated I feel,” Young expressed. “It’s as if someone physically invaded my space.”

Installed in their home in Rancho Peñasquitos, Young started feeling uneasy about the camera after noticing its blue light, which indicated it might be recording without their knowledge.

“It all felt pretty bizarre,” she said. “I kept wondering, what’s actually happening here?” Young’s doubts were soon confirmed.

While the family was gathered in the living room, they suddenly heard a woman’s voice coming through one of the camera speakers. “It was unmistakably his ex-wife,” Young recounted. “I looked up, and there was the blue light, and the camera was just there.”

After removing the camera from its place, they found that Franche’s ex-wife was still listed on the Ring account. NBC San Diego reported that the camera was linked to various Amazon devices registered under her name—devices that the couple did not own.

Franche had originally owned the camera while still married, supposedly assuming he’d removed her access during their divorce.

Franche has since sent a cease and desist letter to his ex, along with restraining orders intended to protect himself, Young, and their children.

Reports suggest the ex-wife recorded numerous clips, including sensitive moments involving the couple’s young children, like breastfeeding and other private family interactions.

“The logs show she accessed my account…she recorded over 44,000 minutes in just two months,” Young claimed, believing the ex-wife managed to record up to 12 hours daily for weeks.

Young noted that at least 13 clips included the voice of Franche’s ex-wife, saved to their account.

Some of the moments allegedly recorded included deeply private conversations about finances and other sensitive topics. “She witnessed such intimate moments,” Young lamented. “We shouldn’t have to worry about her intruding on our life.”

“It’s like she invaded our home, regardless of the screen,” she added.

Though two restraining orders against the ex-wife were dismissed by the court, law enforcement has investigated the matter, transferring the case to the San Diego District Attorney’s Office.

Police have suggested various charges related to eavesdropping and stalking, but as of now, no criminal charges have been officially filed.
