Chilling Developments in Alabama Bunker Child Abuse Case
Authorities are uncovering more disturbing details surrounding a child rape case linked to an underground bunker in Brent, Alabama. Initially reported in February, the investigation has since escalated, resulting in multiple charges against seven individuals. Investigators suspect there may be additional victims and perpetrators involved.
Bibb County Sheriff Jody Wade expressed his shock, stating, “I’ve been in law enforcement for 33 years, and this is the most frightening thing I’ve ever seen regarding child victims. I know that God’s forgiveness is infinite, but if there is a limit, I think we’ve reached it.”
Prosecutors revealed that ten victims, aged from 3 to 15, were reportedly taken to the bunker, where they were “booked” and assaulted in exchange for $1,000 per night. Some accounts indicate that pharmaceutical drugs were used on the children.
Among those arrested were parents of the abused children. Rebecca Brewer, 29, allegedly collaborated with 29-year-old Andres Velazquez-Trejo; they had three children together, along with at least one from a previous relationship.
In a related arrest, 41-year-old Sarah Louise Terrell was apprehended, along with several individuals sharing the Terrell surname. Authorities are still investigating their connections. Disturbingly, Ricky Terrell is accused of raping a 10-year-old girl, while Sarah Terrell reportedly used a shock collar on at least one child.
Assistant District Attorney Brian Jones described horrifying details, stating that Trejo had restrained children to furniture and allowed individuals to pay to have sex with them. Wade mentioned that the Department of Homeland Security is involved, as they suspect ties to Mexican gangs based on the trafficking elements of the case.
Interestingly, Jones suggested that the children may have unknowingly benefitted from being drugged, which could help lessen some of their memories related to the abuse. “I’m hoping they don’t carry the weight of it as heavily as they might have otherwise,” he said.
In a shocking admission, 21-year-old William Chase McElroy confessed to sexually assaulting both a male victim and at least one female victim, while Dalton Terrell admitted to having sex with a minor. Additionally, Timothy St. John, 23, faces charges related to bestiality.
When questioned about the bunker’s future, Sheriff Wade was uncertain but stated, “If I had my way, we would blow it up.” The children are currently in state custody, receiving medical and psychological care.
Wade lamented the trauma these young victims have endured, saying, “No child deserves this. The power and control of it—stealing a child’s innocence—is horrific.” He emphasized the importance of providing the necessary assistance for healing, acknowledging that for some victims, the scars may last a lifetime.
