US Conducts Attacks on Iran for Ninth Night in a Row

The US Central Command has confirmed that attacks on Iranian military sites have continued for nine consecutive nights. This escalation follows the tragic deaths of US service members due to Iranian attacks in Jordan and Iraq. President Donald Trump has indicated that he will maintain pressure on Iran, aiming to weaken its military capabilities and is considering a naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Department of the Army has identified the two US soldiers who were killed in enemy fire at Muwafaq Salti Air Base in Jordan last week. They are Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, from Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Private First Class Isabella Gonzalez, 19, of Carrollton, Texas.
These soldiers are the first US casualties since Iran resumed hostilities after President Trump’s infringement on a peace agreement. In addition, another service member lost their life during an incident involving an unexploded ordnance in northern Iraq, and the remains of a third service member were also identified, according to US Central Command.
With this announcement, the total number of US service members killed since the conflict began has now reached 17, with over 420 injured.
Details of the Casualties
Feehan and Gonzalez were involved in operations against ISIS in the region, specifically as part of Operation Inherent Resolve. Their deaths occurred during the Iranian attack on Jordan, which is currently under investigation.
Although operations against ISIS in Iraq have officially concluded, the US is altering and increasing its presence in Syria. Recently, experts have warned that ISIS could take advantage of the shifting dynamics following the US withdrawal from Iraq.
Escalation of Conflict
Since an interim ceasefire fell apart last week, hostilities have reignited between the US and Iran. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth expressed his condolences, stating that the sacrifices made only strengthen their resolve.
President Trump has given the green light for consistent attacks against Iranian military positions and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps along Iran’s coastline. This action contradicts terms of a now-expired memorandum intended to facilitate a ceasefire and ensure safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
At Joint Base Andrews, President Trump remarked on Sunday night, “We hit them very hard again tonight, but we probably did it in honor of three people… those great patriots were fighting to keep Iran from having nuclear weapons.”
