California Sheriff Criticizes Governor Over LA Riots

A sheriff from California, who is also running as a Republican candidate for governor, has publicly denounced Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom. He claims that Newsom is exacerbating the ongoing riots in Los Angeles.

During a recent statement, he urged Newsom to “put his phone down” and “stay out of the way of law enforcement.” The sheriff, Chad Bianco of Riverside County, expressed strong opinions on the matter, stating that the rioters are not legitimately protesting against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Instead, he believes they should not be permitted to “facilitate the downfall of our civilized society.”

Bianco elaborated, asserting that the actions of the rioters are an attempt to “violently influence something by political action.” He expressed that this goes against the fundamental principles of the Constitution and the core values that law enforcement upholds.

He made an emotional appeal for the governor to stop contributing to the unrest, stating that Newsom is merely “fueling this process.” Bianco criticized Newsom’s understanding of law enforcement, claiming that he “knows absolutely nothing” about it and is encouraging chaos.

In a parallel response, former President Donald Trump also pointed fingers at Newsom for his inability to manage the escalating unrest, which had already lasted for several days.

In response to the riots, President Trump has sent National Guard troops and hundreds of Marines to Los Angeles. However, Governor Newsom has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration, alongside California’s Attorney General Rob Bonta, in what some perceive as a strange counteraction.

Additionally, White House Border Czar Tom Homan addressed inquiries from the media, clarifying that he has “no intention to arrest” Newsom, despite the governor’s bold challenge for him to do so.
