Spencer Pratt Comments on Newsom’s Support
Kayleigh McEnany recently highlighted a controversial anti-homelessness initiative by Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, noting that merely 10% of the $418 million allocated has made a tangible impact in getting people off the streets. Spencer Pratt, who is one of Bass’s opponents in the mayoral race, criticized claims of corruption and condemned instances of dog abuse in the Skid Row area. He shared his belief in a faith-driven mission to enhance safety in Los Angeles, particularly for mothers and children. Interestingly, recent polling indicates a notable surge in support for busing in the Platte mayoral race.
This past weekend, candidates like Bass, who is looking to secure a second term, actively campaigned in various locations ahead of the upcoming primary election. Her main competitors include Spencer Pratt, a former reality television star, and City Council member Nitya Raman.
Polling suggests that it’s highly unlikely any candidate will reach the 50% required to win outright, which means the race is set to continue to a runoff in November for the top two contenders.
During a campaign stop on Saturday at the Yosemite Recreation Center in Eagle Rock, Bass, supported by influential Democrats like former Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Gavin Newsom, engaged with voters. She humorously donned an apron reading “Common Sense and Carne Asada” while serving tacos.
In a recent Instagram livestream, Bass took a jab at Pratt, describing him as a “failed reality TV star” seeking fame, while drawing parallels to Donald Trump. Her comments underscored the challenges of having individuals with reality TV backgrounds in significant positions of power.
Pratt, meanwhile, utilized social media to direct criticism at Raman regarding her campaign advertisements. In a video address, she emphasized her competitiveness despite the vast funding directed toward other candidates, urging her followers to vote.
The race continues to be characterized by heated exchanges, with Pratt focusing on Bass’s handling of emergencies like the January wildfires that devastated many homes, including his own. He hasn’t held back in addressing issues like homelessness, drug addiction, and crime in the city.
As the competition heats up, Pratt is gaining traction, supported by a variety of celebrities and influencers. However, as a registered Republican, he faces a tough road ahead in a city traditionally aligned with Democratic viewpoints.
