The Biden campaign has been accused of directly intervening to block voters critical of President Joe Biden from speaking to the media.
The day after Biden’s disastrous debate performance, New York Times reporter Simon Levin tried to speak to voters at a Biden rally in Nevada, where the main speaker was Vice President Kamala Harris.
“I saw staff do the same to other reporters, and it seemed to make at least one of my interview subjects uneasy.”
But as Levine was traveling the area talking to voters, something sinister happened: Biden campaign staffers followed him around and prevented him from speaking to certain voters.
“While I was speaking to voters at VP Harris’ Las Vegas rally, a Biden campaign staffer from Nevada followed me and“Voters asked that the interview end when the comments became critical of President Biden,” Levine said. report.
In the first incident, Democratic supporter Amy Nelson was telling Levine that she thought there were better Democratic candidates to take on Donald Trump when a Democratic Party staffer interrupted the interview.
“I can’t tell you there’s nobody better than me,” Nelson said.
“We’re at a Joe Biden event so we’re going to stop here, sorry,” a staffer interjected.
The campaign staffer, Levine Pool report revealsThe person in question is Clio Calvo Platero, deputy communications director for the Biden campaign in Nevada.
In the second incident, Mr. Levien tried to talk to undecided voter Steven Stubbs. Mr. Levien said Mr. Stubbs was arguing that Biden should drop out of the race while criticizing Mr. Biden’s “mental acuity,” but Calvo Platero again stopped the interview.
“Who’s running the country?” Stubbs told Levine. “Put Kamala in!”
“Sorry, I’m going to stop here. This is a Biden event. Is that OK?” Calvo Platero interjected.
Levine Later reported He asked Calvo Platero why she was interfering with his job as a reporter, to which, according to Levine, she replied, “She was just doing her job.”
Unfortunately, Levine wasn’t the only reporter to experience this strange behavior from the Biden campaign.
Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter Taylor Avery said election workers repeatedly interrupted her interview and attempted to intimidate voters, preventing them from speaking freely.
“That happened to me,” Avery said. “Not once, but twice, staff tried to shut down an interview with a voter who said Biden should step down. Then they let me and the voter in, saying, ‘The VP is on his way,’ but 30 minutes later, he still hadn’t shown up.”
“In addition, I had staff follow me and record at least three interviews, and I observed staff doing the same to other reporters, with at least one interviewee appearing nervous,” she explained.
